No, I am not talking a rubbish fire or farming but pure next door horsepower. The latest adventure was to Knoxville Dragway. Now under new management the folks are great that work the track and very helpful. It was a Sunday afternoon, sun shining and slight breeze for nearly perfect drag racing action. The great thing about local tracks is how close you can get to the action. Close up enough to get put back on the fence from the high horsepower funny car’s percussive exhaust.

As with any form of Motorsports racing, SAFETY is always first! All racers are required to follow safety rules for their class of cars and those not obeying don’t race. So don’t expect any rules to bent just for you!

Family and friends help the driver with between race chores from fueling to chassis adjustment. While lining up your car in the lane, friends can help you get the best track for maximum speed. yes friends also listen to your stories about how that win got away.

From 3000 hp funny cars to 6 second street rods, the action never ends till the winner is crowned. Check them out at the link below.

Boomsday 2010

It was a great time with a hugh crowd. Vendors, radio stations, live bands , stunt shows and finally another awesome fireworks show. The largest I know of on Labor Day. Crowds lined the streets, parking garages, nearby buildings, and a small fleet of boats was in the water, all for one thing – the fireworks! I have a small sample of the shots I took and more can be found and purchased on my Smugmug page just by clicking on any picture! Hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy taking them. Recently some work mates went to a park nearby and jammed. I stopped before the meal and snapped a shot or two for fun. Once I got it in Photoshop I decided to give it that western style as they were pickin’ bluegrass. I think it turned out really cool! They love it!

1st Annual Knoxville Bike Rally – Hot Hot Fun!

June 16-19 found many bikers headed to Knoxville for some hot weather and hot fun! There were girls, bikes, vendors, test rides, stunt shows and lots more bikes. Vendors had hotdogs to the latest hot parts for you or your bike. You could have your LED lights installed to getting the latest apparel.

If the usual venue is not your cup of tea then wait there was more. A fashion show was put on using volunteer models to show off the latest ladies fashions from jeans to dresses – oh yeah!

Dan the Monster man from monstermotorcycle.com showed up to mingle with the crowd, take pictures with the attendees and make new friends. He fired souvenir yellow balls into the crowd while they waited for the nightly musicians started to lay down their tunes. Great website, great guy!

The bike show brought out old school and new school styles and in the end old school won out. Some awesome craftsmanship and new ideas shined as brightly as the steel art did.

Saturday was the final day ended by an uplifting concert by Kimberly Cash and a light show extravaganza. Kimberly touched the crowd with her personal music style and personal touch engaging the small but loyal crowd. The fireworks were not only on stage but in the parking lot seen by everyone near the Chilhowee park Fairgrounds.
